A 9 month opening the year of the harvest. Before the 8 year arrives in full, January asks you to release what 2023 did not finish.

The texture of the month

2024 is an 8 year, the harvest. January 2024 is a 9 month (8 + 1 = 9). Nine is completion, release, the closing chord.

A 9 month opening an 8 year is the cycle's housecleaning. Before the harvest can be claimed cleanly, January asks you to release the loose ends of the previous year. The 7 year of 2023 was inward and reflective; what it surfaced but did not resolve, January 2024 will not let you carry into the harvest.

What this month is asking

Finish or abandon. There is no third option in a 9 month opening an 8 year. The harvest year will not tolerate half-projects; it will demand clarity about what stays and what goes.

Three observations for January:

  • The half-finished project needs a decision by month's end.
  • The relationship that was uncertain in 2023 needs to either deepen or release. The 9 month makes both possible.
  • Forgive what 2023 did not become. The harvest year will deliver its own gifts; clinging to the previous year's incompletes will dilute them.
A harvest cannot be claimed with both hands full of last year's regrets.

February will quietly plant the year's small new seed. January is the month to make the soil ready by clearing what was already growing.
