The texture of the month
2023 is a 7 year. July 2023 is a 5 month (7 + 7 = 14 → 5). Five is the number of movement, change, departure.
A 5 month inside a 7 year is the year's most kinetic moment. The seeker year tends to be still; July upends that. Travel, a change of place, or even just a different rhythm gives the inward work a new angle of light.
What this month is asking
Move, briefly. The 5 month does not require you to abandon the retreat. It requires you to interrupt it, just long enough that what you have been seeing inside has a chance to be seen from a different vantage.
Three observations for July:
- Take a trip. Even a short one. The 5 month will use the movement productively.
- Talk to someone unrelated to your usual circle. New perspectives loosen old patterns.
- Resist the urge to keep the retreat unbroken. The 7 year benefits from this month's interruption.
The seeker who never travels eventually mistakes the room for the world.
